Weekly wages in Saskatchewan in August increased 3.5

According to Statistics Canada, average weekly wages in Saskatchewan in August increased 3.5 percent to $878.07, third highest among the provinces and slightly above the national average. The provinces and slightly above the national average. The province's employed workforce grew by 2.5 percent, well above the national average increase of 1.6 percent, to 452,400 in August. The increase of 1900 jobs from July to August in Saskatchewan represents roughly 40 percent of the entire job gains nationally in the month of August. (Leader Post October 28, 2011)

Saskatchewan's urban housing starts in the first 10 months of 2011 were up by 33.2 percent when compared with the same period last year, the highest percentage among the provinces. (Enterprise Saskatchewan News Release, November 8, 2011)
